Getting to the Vineyard

Driving to the Vineyard?

The Steamship Authority operates the only automobile ferry service to the Island from Woods Hole on Cape Cod (a short 45-minute crossing). These large vessels operate hourly, year-round. Reservations are required and should be made as soon as possible. Booking for June 2019 opens up in March. steamshipauthority.com

Parking is also available at the ferry locations in Falmouth, New Bedford, and Quonset, RI. If you drive to any of these locations, lots are available nearby. Then once on island, taxis are plentiful and can take you to your hotel or rental.

Note: Guests of the Winnetu can utilize an on-Island pick-up/drop-off service from Falmouth, Massachusetts. The Island Queen offers mainland parking within walking distance to the dock. The boat line has guaranteed Winnetu guests parking availability in their lots as a Winnetu voucher is shown to the parking attendant. Mainland parking is $15.00 per day (cash or travelers checks only). Reservations must be made in advance through the Winnetu. Click here.
